Hello, this is a newly designed logo for the NSW government. At your first sight, the opera house and harbour bridge sketches are at the background. This symoblizes the most significant, well-known spot in the state NSW.
As NSW relies on tourism a lot through Sydney, putting Sydney's top pick at the background can show to foreigners who are not quite familiar with Australia's state that Sydney belongs to the NSW. Also, the wordings are in red not just because of the catchy colour but also Waratah(flower in red) as the representative flower of the state.
Putting Waratahs on top of the harbour bridge is making the flowers look like the annual new year fireworks on the harbour bridge. The annual fireworks is the most representable new year event in the southern hemisphere and commonly known as the first countdown fireworks every year by worldwide TV channels. The "Waratah-fireworks" logo is going to be attracting more and more people to have positive impression for the NSW government.

Yuhan,
I really like your new design for the NSW government logo. It does a great job incorporating the element of the Waratah from the current logo, yet elevating it to an improved standard with far more creativity.
Your logo is simple yet full of symbolism. The inclusion of the Waratah, the NSW state flower, as in the current logo decisively represents diverse the flora and fauna found in NSW. Additionally, the inclusion of the two of Australia's most iconic and recognisable landmarks which both happen to reside in NSW demonstrate the cultural significance of the state upon the Australian landscape. These elements make this logo very memorable, a key element in building brand equity.
In saying that I think…
Hi Yuhan
The first impression I felt from your logo design is very creative and captive. I think it was an excellent idea that you use appropriate symbols (such as Opera house and Darling Harbour) by representing its uniqueness. Especially, it is very great idea that as you keep the previous logo’s symbol (Waratah), which leads a harmony of your new logo and previous logo. Also, the location of the text ‘NSW Government’ is a good visual representation position.
However, there are few things that I can give you advices. Here is my suggestion for your new logo design. First, the overall design of your logo is not quite harmonious (e.g. the colours of each images are gawdacious). It would…
Hi there Yuhan,
Firstly, its clear that you were trying to make the logo more identifiable. By incorporating a variety of NSW's most identifiable symbols, such as the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, you are ensuring that a larger number of people are able to recognise the location in which the government is responsible for. As you stated its helping to show foreigners who are not familiar with Australia's states to be able to identify the actual logo and brand. Although your logo helps to increase brand salience, especially to foreigners, I don't think this should necessarily be the purpose of the logo. I think here you have focused so heavily on including identifiable features of NSW, to the extent…
